When the icon to download says right click, save as.... it will let you download the link, but with a html extension. This means you have to rename the file everytime.

Is there a way to fi this?

If you right-click and select "save target as", you can fix it there. There should be a way for Henry to fix this on his end though.

Unfortunately there is no way to fix this.  :(
The url for saving a file is: http://localhost/browser.html?download=somefile.mp3
BrowseAmp recognizes the download command and bends the requested document to somefile.mp3
The webbrowser creates the filename from the original url, not from the downloaded file (here: browser.html).

Would it work if you were to set the link as:

http://localhost/new.mp3?download=somefile.mp3

If so, you could even use the BrowseAmp tags to pre-populate the correct name, e.g.

http://localhost/<#FileName>?downloa...t;#FileName>

(note, wrong tag above I'm sure, I'm guessing here...)

Hey, you're great!! Why didn't I think of that...

The complete link looks like:
<a href="<#browser_filename>?download=<#browser_enc_filename>">download</a>

Cool!! I just noticed that you don't even need to choose 'save link as...' any longer. It works perfect!  :-D

Keefy, you are the :king:

Sorry for bumping this, but how do I integrate the code you posted into browser amp? this "bug" is still in 2.05 (save target as .html).

thanks.

The eXtended skin uses this code. Just left-click the download icon. Nothing else needed.  ;)
