Hi Henry,

I'm having problems running BrowseAmp 2.2 only my WinXP box, although my Win2k box is fine. When I switch back to 2.1, it's fine, but when you reinstall 2.2 the error reoccurs. When you launch Winamp, the following error is seen and the Winamp window is unresponsive. After a minute (approx) it closes.

I've no idea what is wrong. I've tried deleting browseamp.ini before restarting, but it didn't work.

I'm sorry  :( !
I can't figure out what's wrong. I have just tried it with XPPro SP1 without any problems (maybe BA doesn't like your music or your candy-style XP theme :-p )

Anyone else?

Idea: edit browseamp.ini and in insert the following line in the [Setup] section: useCache=0

Does it still occur?

Hi,

I've got the same problem. No way, even with your additional line in [setup]. I'm using Windows XP Pro, the famous corporate, no servicepack.

I only installed v2.02, because I had a problem with 2.0... I couldn't delete playlistentrys. Setup was right so far. No matter if with or without usermanagement.

Well, so far,
thanks.
SirJack

lol, the colours changed a bit on encoding to gif, it's the bog standard xp theme. Which may be objectable in some quarters I suppose...   The Gotan Project, now now now, can't disrespect them!!

No service pack on my box either, but I doubt that's relevant. Any significant code changes since 2.01?

The useCache setting didn't work either. If you need any more info, just ask!

Update:

I used WinAmp 2.81 as a got the problems.

Now i use WinAmp 2.91 and there are no more problems. BA 2.02 works fine

but the "keep playlist alive" option still dont work to me properly. it only works with the "remove played songs"

Ok, next idea:

What Winamp version causes these errors?
I recommend to use 2.9x because BrowseAmp 2.xx uses some API calls that are new in Winamp 2.9x.

@Juido: What number is shown near the keep-playlist-alive checkbox?

Yup, it was the Winamp version on the box. Same versions as Juido had problems with.

Might be worthwhile putting a check in the installer, if that's possible...

winamp freeze with browsamp..

i got a strange problem. after about 8h nonstop playing with "keep Playlist alive" my winamp start to freeze. CPU usages of winamp climb up to 99% and stayed there.

i have to kill winamp with taskmanager on my W2K system.

my alternate blank winamp without BA2.02 dindt freeze.

I made 2 Pics to show what happend

[Image: http://www.infinity-radio.de/playlisten/juido/winamp.jpg]

[Image: http://www.infinity-radio.de/playlisten/juido/winamp3.jpg]

Pic 1 shows if Winamp with BA2.02 is running on a AMD 1800+ XP with 512MB Ram

and Pic 2 shows a clean winamp without BA2.02. it doenst matter if i turn the BA server off and disable the "keep playlist alive"
