Hah, I forgot...
There is a flash base volume bar somewhere in the forums but it does not work with BA2 because the volume levels are now 0..100 (it was 0..255 in the old BA).
Anyway I've attached it! Maybe you can ask the guy that created it (see readme.txt in the zip) to handover the source.

edit: see this thread (thank god we have got a search function  :-D )

On the flash volume bar, this kind of thing would also work well as progress bar. I was going to add one using a table with widths expressed as percentages, but a flash one could do the same as well. What would be cool would be a "jumpto&percent=X" command, which would take you to that part of the track. Then it would be a clickable progress bar, with the percentage being derived from where you clicked.

The source of of a flash based skin can be found here.
Maybe someone can extract the volume slider. I just try to understand it 'cause I'm a Flash noob  :(

Jeez Henry, calm down!!  :rolleyes:   We're struggling to keep up here...

Got the progress bar working in my skin now...it uses a <td width="x%"> to produce the "played section" on the left. The percentage can easilly be worked out from the current position and track length.

Now I need to see if there is a way to make the entire table clickable, feeding the relative position of the click into your new command. If so, the same code could be used for the volume control as well, meaning no flash is required.

Hey, i have seen a website wich has a picture in it, on that picture was a link, depending on the position of your mouse;

like this: http://balbla/file.html?25,26 (x-pos,y-pos)

I dont know where that was,... but it IS possible...

I have another option maybe:

Here is an dutch site: http://www.plussupermarkt.nl/zoeken/provin...cie.cfm?prov=br
It shows an map of a part of Holland. There you can find info about all the different supermarkets in the cities. When you click on a name, you;ll get info about that specefic supermarket. If you click in an empty part of the image, you will get an error saying "Nothing found"

I looked in the source, but couldn't find usefull info... maybe it helps you...

Good luck!

P.S. i like this program!! (i use it to controll winamp from my Active desktop)

here are two simple volume control sliders flash. One will work with BA 1 with its 255 levels of sound and the other will will work with BA 2 with it's 100 levels of sound

it calls playlist.html with the appropriate volume attached.

Hi John Q, thanks for that. I think what your are talking about are image maps, where the image has "hotspots" that are clickable. This kind of thing could work for me, however as I am using a table to show the progress bar, it will need to have two images, one for each side. As the cell widths in the tables varies, I don't think enclosing an image within them will work. The image will force the cell to be the same size as it.

I think I'll need to search out some Javascript examples for something like this, so I can use something other than a table to show the progress. What is important though is that there is a relatively simple way to at least show a progress bar.  :)

I know how to make a clickable progress bar in PHP

<?php

//replace 80 by the code to get the volume% from the program (ps. does the program also send the % sign? if so, the script wont work, please reply then

$volume = 80;

// for each % you make a link to browser?volume=... it wil look like this:
// <a href="...?volume=1">....</a><a href="...?volume=2">....</a> [...] <a href="...?volume=the end value (the current vollume)">....</a>
// this wil create a loop and to that for every percent.

for($i = 1; $i <= $volume; $i ++){
?>
// the print command prints the percent (wich goes from 1 to the current volume)
<a href="browser.html?volume=<?php print $i;?>"><img border=0 height="10" width="1" src="px.jpg"></a>
// to end the for-loop
<?php
}

//this loop prints a link with an transparent image (the links go from current volume+1 to 100)
for($i = $volume + 1; $i <= 100; $i ++){
?>
<a href="browser.html?volume=<?php print $i;?>"><img border=0 height="10" width="1" src="px2.jpg"></a>
<?php
}
?>

REMOVE THE COMMENT LINES (starting with //) to make the script work!!

I hope you know something of PHP (you'll need a webserver with php to run this script) if you don't know something about it, i hope you can see what i mean and build the same script in HTML/javascript, i think that is possible but i dont know how

BTW: you aren't using a table now, just placing images of 1 px in widht next to each other (the complete bar will be 100px in width. if you want it to be 200 px in width, just double the width of each individual pixel...

Good luck with the script, for questons reply...

Here is the script with the lines with the HTML-links one one line, so the images are close to each other (if not, there will be a gap between the images)

I gave the images a width of 1%, so the progress bar will be exact the width of the (I )Frame or browser window.

I hope you can do something with it:

<?php
$percent = 80;
for($i = 1; $i <= $percent; $i ++){
?>
<a href="browser.html?volume=<?php print $i;?>"><img border=0 height="10" width="1%" src="px.jpg"></a><?php } for($i = $percent + 1; $i <= 100; $i ++){ ?><a href="browser.html?volume=<?php print $i;?>"><img border=0 height="10" width="1%" src="px2.jpg"></a><?php } ?>
