Hi Henry,

I'm having problems shutting down my XP machine when the BrowseAmp Tray control is running. XP simply will not shut down or restart until the tray control is manualy exited.

Anyone else expirencing this?

Hi Henry,

We have local music stores per user and that means currently you have to scroll a lot to get to some users stores as they are done location1 a-z, location2 a-z .... If the list was alphabetically sorted (i.e. just a..z) then it'd be a lot easier to locate artists and albums.

Cheers,

Dave

Doh! fair point!

I had an idea about extending the tray icon click options:

o Add "display tray menu" as an action
o Add an option for right click actions as well

Cheers,

David

Hi Henry,

I have now! I tried the link several times last week and I only got the version from 30th November 2004! But I got the right one today! Thanks for adding the left click tray icon option. Just another feature thought... is it possible to get the tray icon to show the current state: stopped / paused / playing with different icons?

Thanks,

David

Hi Henry,

The open web browser menu function appears to be not using the port number.

Album Cover Art Downloader is a great tool, but has poor documentation. To get it working you have to sign up to Amazon's web services developer program, which is free. Here's the sign up link to save you the greif of typing it in like I had to :

I just found out that the new version does not require you to register with Amazon's web services developer program anymore.

Hi Henry,

Great idea, but any chance of a link to the port enabled version?

Also perhaps you could add an option for a left-click on the tray icon function e.g. pause/unpause or mute/unmute and just have the right click opening the menu? This would be really useful for when phonecalls come in.

Cheers,

Dave.

This generates a folder.jpg file in each music folder (a la WMP9), and can also embed it in mp3's meta data. It has an automated get all missing images function, which works quite well though after it's completed you'll want to check its picked the right ones. If it hasn't then the right one is usally only a few clicks away. :-D

BTW it's freeware :)

I've got problems with this to.

I've got a winamp/browseamp based music server in the office and each user has a music folder on their local machine, which is mapped a drive letter on the music server. I've renamed the default image name to folder.jpg to match my album cover image files, but still no joy. Is there a fix for this?

Also does anyone know of a cover art visulisation that I could full screen on the music server's screen?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Henry,

In the eXtended skin I found skin.ini which has a property "coverfilename" which can be used to set the cover file to look for, which was much eaiser. (Though I also found out where to do it in the code).

For future skin revisions perhaps a javascript function than returns the filename would be a good idea. It could probably even scan through several common possiblies to see if it's present (e.g. folder.jpg, front.jpg, cover.jpg, <ArtistName>.jpg and <AlbumName>.jpg).

Cheers,

David

One question how are cover images curently suported?

Hi Henry, thanks for getting back to me so fast.

I find the media library more difficult to browse than the directory stucture as CDex had very nicely organised it for me :) and I prefer playing albums.

Thanks for the drive letter assigning tip, i'll give it a go. :smart:

Hi,

It's great but a few annoying bugs really drag it down:

occasional crashes with winamp 5.03, settings are only saved on exit so when this happens settings are lost.

network folders e.g. \\william\music, when there is more than one in the additional folders list only the last one is listed on the browse amp generated webpages.

browsing of sub-folders in the additional folders list is not allowed unless browse outside root directory is checked. Browsing of subfolders should be allowed even when this box is unchecked.

In the broswer back to home folder should be replaced by a home folders view listing the machines home folder and any additional folders.

Thanks,

David
